FEN, member of the UNESCO Global Education Coalition

12th May 2021, Bogota – Colombia

More than 1.5 billion students and youth in 165 countries have been affected by school closures due to the COVID-19 health crisis. Heeding the call for coordinated and innovative action that creates solutions for students and teachers in these difficult times, FEN recently joined the UNESCO Global Education Coalition.

It is a platform for collaboration and exchange of synergies and best practices that seeks -with a focus on inclusion and equity- to protect the right to education of girls, boys, and young people. The Coalition brings together more than 175 members from the United Nations family, civil society, academia, and private sector.

As a member of the Coalition FEN will provide open access to the Renueva virtual campus, a collaborative space that allows discussion, exchange, and reflection on teachers´ pedagogic practices. Its objective is to bring together teachers and practitioners -particularly from Latin America- and build a robust Community of Practice that contributes to educational quality through the exchange of active, participatory, and cooperative student-centered learning experiences. We hope the tool will help teachers to respond to today’s educational challenges.
